Day 3 sees a busy morning for Team England with beach volleyball, rugby 7s swimming and tennis all in action first thing before athletics will take centre stage later in the day.

Both beach volleyball teams enter the knock-out stages of the competition with quarter final matches Thursday.

The Bello twins take on South Africa whilst the girls will play New Zealand and a defeat would see the end of either pair’s medal chances.

It’s a big day for rugby 7s as well with the pool stages reaching a conclusion.  England currently sit second in the group but face Sri Lanka and big test against Fiji; two wins would give the team a fantastic chance of making the gold medal match.

The tennis duo of Peter Allam and Indiana Spinks both have singles matches in the morning against Lesotho and Fiji respectively before teaming up later that afternoon to face Sri Lanka in the mixed doubles.

There is much at stake in the boxing ring for Team England’s competitors.

Yesterday’s victors Ivan Hope Price and Shiloh Defreitas are back in action. They will be joined by Chloe Watson and Aaron Bowen with all four boxers just one win away from a semi-final place and a guaranteed medal.

Opening ceremony flag bearer Holly Mills will once again lead the team as the women’s long jump competition will represent one of England’s best hopes on the first day of athletics competition.

The swimming team will also be looking to build on the three medals already won with a further nine medals on offer including the 4x200m mixed relay.
