Day 4 at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Bahamas will see England’s rugby 7s team take on Samoa for a gold medal in a repeat of the opening game of the pool stage.

It was Samoa that claimed a 19-7 victory first time round in a hard fought and physical contest, but the England boys will be looking to have the final say and add another gold medal to the growing total achieved to date.

Javier and Joaquin Bello will also look to guarantee a medal by booking a place in the final of the men’s beach volleyball competition.

The pair are unbeaten to date in the competition and in fantastic form.

Peter Alam and Indiana Spink both coped well with long rain delays on day 3 to come through their singles matches in straight sets and will content quarter finals today.

Finally, the medal prospects remain strong in the pool and on the track with the focus on history maker Layla Black who will hope to defend the second of her two Commonwealth Youth titles won in Samoa in 2015 when the 100m breaststroke is contested.

Meanwhile, in athletics, Chad Miller will look to build on a promising start to his young career in the men’s 200m.
