day 5 preview

Twin brothers Javier and Joaquin Bello will go for gold on day 5 in the final of the beach volleyball competition.  The under 20 British Champions who also celebrated their birthday on Thursday will look to make a gold medal the perfect present when they take on Cyprus this afternoon.

The big question for the boxing team remains not if they will win medals but what colour the six they have already secured will be. It’s semi-finals day with a win guaranteeing at least a silver and the chance to go for the top step on the podium.

It is the final day of competition at the swimming with Team England look to add to an incredible total of 14 medals already won. Lily Boseley is currently the most successful athlete at the Games with 1 gold and 2 silver but her teammates Jakob Goodman and Ciara Schlosshan could challenge her for that title with events in the final session.

On the track, hopes of success are high with a number of athletes in the final but the men’s 800m looks a particularly strong prospect for Alex Botterill.

Finally, the tennis has reached the semi-final stage with Indiana Spink England’s sole remaining representative.  Spink takes on world number 1 Zeel Desai of India for a place in the gold medal match.
